I'm aiming for staying power and a natural look. My natural eyebrow color is black and I have a skin color inbetween an olive and brown.

What eyebrow pencil and powder would you gals recommend I try?

Also what color should I be looking to buy?

I herd m-a-c has a really good eyebrow pencil but as far as brow powder goes, I am completely clueless.

Please help!

Thanks!

I looked forever for a natural, long-lasting eye pencil/powder. The best I've found is from Benefit Cosmetics. It's called Brow Zing. Although it's kind of expensive ($28), I've been using the same kit daily for years.

One side is a powder and the other is a wax. It comes with 2 different mini-brushes (awesome) and a tweezer (not so great).

Even though my hair is dark brown, I purchased the "light" version because I didn't want to look like Joan Crawford. :-) Light still comes out really dark brown. Perfect every time.

Use the pencil to draw on the shape of your eyebrow (not too heavy on the pencil) then take a short bristled eye brush and use it with the eyebrow powder. Go over the new line (lightly) with the brush & powder until you get the look you're going for. Set these with a light dusting of face powder and it should last all day. If you practice a little you should get a natural look and nobody will know you overplucked!

I like MAC "Concrete" shadow. It is dark gray with a slight olive tone to it. It stays on, and it blends in well with black or dark brown hair. Its pigmentation is good enough that you wouldn't need an additional pencil, just a good angle brush. You can even dampen the brush to get a more defined line.

Lower price bracket - Sephora makes a great kit.
Higher price bracket - Chanel.
