I think is because of his charisma and the fact that in the Mideast, he is standing up to the "Zionists and Crusaders".
He is like North Korea's President, Kim Jong Ill; he has a sort of "Cult Of Personality" that is merely a cover to the self agrandizing despot tha he truly is; Admedinajad is nothing more than a mouthpiece to the Imams, who are the ones that truly hold control in Tehran.
I think he's like one the little Chihuahua in yor neighborhood that likes to bark a lot, but when you stomp your foot close to him, he rolls over and pisses on himself. We just haven't stomped our foot yet.
