Not anyone could be a teacher. A great teacher is the one who finds the key to the child's soul. There is no bad student or boring subject. The teacher is the one who makes the difference. There is not a matter of appearance. Children can't be fooled by a pretty face or by someone who gives good marks to bribe the student. A teacher is a model . It is not necessary to be perfect. In fact is impossible. A teacher have to be honest to himself and to the others. Children have the seventh sense. They can smell the truth, they can see deep inside your heart. They don't judge the coat, only the man who wears it. I am a teacher. I always try to be a good techer. Good means not only very well informed. That's important but more important is the kowledge of sharing. This I try to teach my students. I am very attentive to their needs and their reaction. I never put them in embarrassing situations, I never lie but find the right way to spot sensible things. I always applogise when I do smth. wrong, such as being late or interrupte someone. I always try to be myself. I use jokes or the proper body language to maintain them focused. I don't know how but I feel the class. I think I still remember my childhood. I challenge them to overcome their learning difficulties. I found out a long time ago that a friendly atmosphere with good established rules of behaviour, based on respect of the human being can do miracles with children during their learning progress. I don't think I am a great teacher, but I try to be a good one.

A teacher is someone or something another being learns from.
When I hear the word teacher I think of someone who stands at the front of the classroom next to a chalkboard and gives lessons to those who require this education. Hopefully it is a person who earns the respect of the students and vice versa.
But a teacher can be many things such as a parent, a book, a computer program, an event in life. Whatever the case, as long as you have learned from something or someone, then whatever or whoever has given the lesson, purposely or not, is a teacher.
If I was only allowed one sentence for this definition I would use my first sentence.

Wow, what a question.
What is the definition of a teacher.... According to websters, a teacher is (n) one that teaches; (esp) one whose occupation is to instruct.
For myself it isn't that easy, I have had good and bad teaches like all of us probably have had. But I chose to become a teacher, an educator, a mentor, and molder of students.
I have been the one to deliver bad news, something like teenage pregnancy or suicide to their fellows; I have also helped to celebrate joyful occassions, winning awards or successful completetion of difficult school years. Each day is different as is each student and situation.
People still seem to think that a teacher is an overated babysitter with weekends off. But without teachers there could be no reading, no writing, and no internet. The burden of todays' teacher is so much more than babysitting. How to create a situation where students 'will' learn in a world of text messengers and other reasons to not be paying attention in class?
Welcome to the world of today's teacher. Always trying to accomplish teaching but often, sadly fighting against electronic distractions, hormones, School announcements, and finally just general lack of interest in what is being taught.
I feel a teacher is someone who faces adversity and instead of being defeated chooses to discover the faint ray of success in each child and then does their best to nuture that ray or flame till it glows.
But then again I could be biased.

A teacher is first teaching by(good) examples.
He/she must be a good role model, bec students tend to follow more by the actions they see from their teachers.A teacher knows
the subject he/she is teaching comprehensively!
Deeper than their students know about it.And
a teacher has a love for his/her students. They are like second parents in schools.
