I should be dying soon? No way. Yeah, it bugged me when people started calling me "sir" -- still does a bit, though I'm learning to milk it.
I disagree with the notion that it's all in how you behave. Your appearance does change in the years after 50, even when you're more careful about diet and exercise, and despite your youthful attitudes.
The truth, though, is that at 50 you're only halfway through your adult life. How others treat you matters very little. How you treat yourself these next few years will make all the difference.

Hello =)
I don't get treated like I'm dying, but I am amused at the courtesies extended to me as an older person now.....
Words like "older gentleman", Sir, Mister, and so forth, that have not usually been used, are hurled at me all the time now. I think it quite funny that some grey hair changes the way people think about you.
Namaste, and Happy New Year,
--Tom

How you get treated at any age depends on how you behave. If you act like an old woman/man, you will get treated like one. I don't mean you have to dress or act like a teenager. But, joy of life, energy, keeping active, etc/., can help you stay young and you don't have to tell your age!!!
