Maybe you want to do something else other than study huh? You are distracted by those influences and cannot focus on your real world. All students face such dilemma and some succeeded and have overcome that "itch"...it really takes a lot of effort to focus on your studies especially if you are not interested in it. I tell you its really worth the effort if you study now and play later. Make friends with those who are into studying...they may shed some insights and make those boring lessons interesting. Goodluck!

That is because you don't look at your education as an end. See your end. Do you see yourself becoming something. Think of how your education is taking you there! If you don't visualise where you will be a few years from now you will never find the zeal to reach your goals. If it is your basic qualification, you have to understand that is the stepping stone to what you need to do further!
Please start now. There may be many interesting things in life to divert your attention now, but if your loose these glorious years no one will supply you with them later. No corporate or no mission will ask you to educate yourself till you are competent enough. Time and tide wait for no one! The intelligent ones are those that wait for an opportunity. WAKE UP!

May be because you are not knowing the value of education and what is going to be the advantage from it. If you dont have good education you cannot lead your life as you aspired. understand this..feel this..then automatically your laziness will vanish and you will get interest in studies on your own.

Hello there...........................
Lemme answer your seemingly hopeless question from my point of view, okay ??
My assumption is it's not you don't like to study, you just get jaded with all the complicated, boring subjects at school, making you unable to explore your greatest talent, your most glaring talent.
You just don't get challenged by the subjects taught at school, or on the other hand, you feel so depressed with the way the society, the family, the teachers, the peers value the success of someone only by the GPA/annual report/graduation certificate.
You don't feel like competing at all, not because you're not capable of, it's just you don't get accustomed to living in the conventional society that doesn't appreciate one's talent but respects academic achievement more.
I know that this might be so bugging, due to your having to maintain, or even keep up with the marks at school.
So, the only way to distract your boredom is by having fun with your golden talent. The talent that relaxes you, soothes you, makes you feel comfortable.
Like me, I like (my hobbies)writing short stories and reading, & I enjoy doing those activities so much, & soon I realize that writing is my talent, so I just write & write everytime my problems, obstacles come near, or even right under my nose.
By writing, I can think clearer, wiser, and that makes me stronger, tougher to overcome my own problems, I can do anything way much better after I have fun with my golden talent.
Good Luck !!

Nobody likes study, we are all forced to study in childhood.
we love study when the topics interest us or will be beneficial to us, that you can see directly.
for example, you are doing a powerpoint slides, you need special effect, then you will open the book, when you get to learn how to do it and complete one thing, you feel benefical, directly you can see, then you would love it.
So, try to find something you like in your study. If you don't like it, just try to pass with a fairly good grade, cause you probably need diploma, at least, it helps you to get a job after graduation. See?get a good job is also an incentive to study.

you are not lazy if you were you wouldn't have posted this question. for the other part of your query, u don't seem to think studying is rewarding. that is why you are not interested in it. the minute you see education as something that is useful u will automatically take interest in it.

because you lack motivation.. now picture this...
you're are lazy and you don't want to do your homework. you don't want to study.. okayss... you do bad on your test scores. you drop your classes thinking you will retake them next semester... and then this repeats on and on because you haven't really tried. you get sick of all the C's and D's you're getting.. you got a job.. and then you're making money... you decide to drop school for a year to work for some money right? and what happens? you don't go back to school.. or you tried going back to school.. but you're not prepared? you're not use to being in the school mode anymore? it's too hard to go back now? and then what? you'll stuck with the same minimum wage job now.
any motivations? think of your future. don't **** up now.

Because you are scared of failing. Don't learn thinking of how you have to pass. Study as a hobby or maybe as fun

You haven't found something that really sparks your interests.
You haven't learned to manage your time.
You want people even strangers to give you answers you should be getting for yourself.
It is easier to be unfocused than it is to find something to focus and to stick with it.
You waste time instead of appylying yourself, because you are afraid of failure.
