You're just leaking colostrum. It's nothing to be concerned about. After the baby's born, it usually takes a couple days for your actual milk supply to come in. That colostrum is loaded full of nutrients that will sustain your baby until your milk comes in. Don't worry if there's not a lot of it when the baby's born, baby won't need a lot the first couple days and the stimulation of regular feedings will set the pace to bring in enough milk when the baby needs it.

I would just go quietly on this one. With a name like Ernestine there are lots of ways you can shorten it to sound funkier. There are also lots more weird and wonderful names out there than there used to be so I doubt she'll get picked on about it. Give her a nice middle name then when she's older if she really hates her first name she can start using the middle name instead. She also might like the fact that she's been named for a grandmother she never knew.

it is normal your body is getting ready for lactation. Your breast will be swollen for the next few months even after birth due to you producing milk for your baby. Talk to your doctor re your concerns.

Some mothers start leaking colostrum before their babies are born. It's nothing to be alarmed about and it's perfectly normal.

You're lactating. Sometimes it will come out thick like that, especially since you're not using it just yet...it can cake up from just sitting there at the opening, and most other fluids do, like lotion!

You probably should talk to your doctor - you may get a whole bunch of answers here :) Maybe you can find a prenatal discussion group to meet with other first time moms too.
