Is there 'a minimum salary' which an engineer has to be given if he is employed by a company in india?

I mean if there is any government ruling regarding this or can the company give any amount according to its will?

I am talking about fresh engineers just out of college.

no there is no rule as such....depends on which college u passed out and which company is hiring u....when i was fresh i used to get offers for even 3-4k...so there is no rule as suchyaar
