Rule 1: Think of a question worth asking. This is sometimes difficult, but well worth saving your points on. Do not keep reasking questions others posted recently.

Rule 2: Post your question to the right group and make it clear. Do not post your questions with titles like "What movie is this from?" or "Is this legal?" or anything else that does not give us clues as to the nature of the question. Ask "What horror film is this from?" instead of "Which movie is this?"

Rule 3: Phrase your question in a balanced way. A recent example I saw asked "Do you think we should legalize marijuana? I do," It was obvious that the asker did not care about those that disagreed with their point of view. You might not like what one side or the other might say in their answers, but you should not go looking for only one type of answer. Somebody might come out of left field and shock you with a very good answer.

Rule 4: Use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. These are good tools in communicating, don't ignore them.

Rule 5: Give as much detailed information as needed. Also, check the answers coming in regularly in case somebody has a question about what you are asking. Use the additional information option to clear up and confusion.
