The impact of Asian civilizations on the west and the west on Asia had to be greater because the contact occurred earlier. The silk trade existed in Roman times and there had been a intermittent interchange of Ideas even in prehistory. Since Americas were geographically isolated they could not have an impact until the technology of ocean going ships developed.

No. First, the meso american civilizations came rather late in human civilization due to the fact that humans crossed the land barrier late making the america's the last to be civilized. Also, we did a pretty good job of wiping them out preventing them from making any impact on modern society. Unfortunatly, Europe has had a greater influence on the Americas because it dominated the meso american cultures when they arrived. The Asian cultures such as China are going good and strong and are making influnces on our modern society today. Plus Asian Society influenced before the meso american socities did. The meso american societies had no chance to influnce. You must realize the cross cultural exchange (finding of the New World if you must) happened late in history. Things like the silk road was going on way before that allowing for cross cultural exchange between the east and west in the old world. Please do not think this means that the meso american societies were great socities, it just means they really did not have a chance to influence anything.

The civilizations of Central America (the Maya in the Yucatan, and the Maya-Quiché
in the west) were very far advanced. And we know the conquistadores didn't go there just for the gold, they went there c1515, armed with the intent to destroy. They knew what they were looking for.

The Popol Vuh (the sacred book of the Maya-Quiché) makes specific mention of the Muslim Ottomans, and it makes specific mention of the ancient Jewish "Doom and Resurrection," tradition of the four hundred rabbi, tho the Popol Vuh changes it to the four hundred boys.

The conquistadores were thorough and didn't leave much - but what is left tells the story of an extraordinary people.

NO. Those societies did not even invent the wheel. Astronomy was the only science in which mesoamerican cultures could even be considered in the same discussion as their old world counterparts.
