I was ticketed for a headlight and opted to pay the ticket because i was afraid to miss anymore work to go to court. I am afraid i made a mistake in my checkbook and the check bounced. I am hoping to settle it quick so i don't get in trouble. Anybody have this experience? What happened?

OMG and I thought I've had bad luck. Sorry, but that has got to be the worse luck I've heard of in a while. Seriously, call your bank to confirm that it did bounce. If it did take the money down to them before they start looking for you. The sooner you clear this up the better.

I did just that. I didn't realize that my check had bounced until it was too late. They put a warrant out for my arrest. All I had to do was contact the court and pay the warrant and fine off in full. That was it.

What you need to do is contact the court and let htem know you had a ticket that you paid with a check. Tell them that there was a mistake in your balancing and it ended up bouncing. See if they will work out a payment plan with you. If they won't ask them if you can pay it in full.

If they say you can pay it in full, one of two things will happen. Either they will accept your payment and pull the warrant and you are done with it all, or they will take the payment and give you a PR (Personal Recognizance) bond for you to take to the local jail and get booked in and booked, then you will have to return to court at sometime.

More than likely since you were paying a ticket with it, you won't need to do the latter.

In my experience, it takes about 6 months for this to reflect on their books. Then you are notified and given 15 days to make good on the check or they will take steps to suspend your licence.

They usually want an extra charge for the bounced check...usually about $50.00.

What does a bad verify/theft through verify fee ought to do with a site visitors value ticket?? The statute of obstacles has to do with the submitting of a case in court. Warrants are continually. they simply bypass away in case you're arrested or you die.

Never had the experience but I would go to the police station with cash and pay them right away. Most likely, they would put a warrant out for your arrest.

Nah, not a big deal... I bounced my check for my drivers license, and its like a business, it goes to collection just like any other check, just make an honest effort to settle it and you have no need to worry...
