As the chances of a couple having boy or girl is 50%, how does a society end up with equal number of both the sexes? also what happens in countries like china where there is single child policy?

Technically more males are born than females but females are typically born stronger and live longer and so it balances out.

It's something to do with the X and Y Chromosones.
Since most male humans share and equal amount of these chromosones in their sperm then the odds of having a baby of either sex are indeed 50 / 50

unlikely, plus that's like saying a certain amount of people with certain genes should never have babies so the stats would turn equal.

And if something like China happened, no harm. If you had more than one child, you pay a fine. Too much people is not so good you know...

Law of large numbers means actual average will be close to theoretical one.

In India, there are areas where they determine gender of foetus and abort if it's a girl. They are really short on women now.

not equal more femails when you hit 70 thats why we have cat fights because there wont be enogh males because they eat ****
