Hazing is not condoned and is forbidden by the National Panhellenic Council and the Interfraternity Council, in addition most all nationally recognized sororities and fraternities also forbid it formally through their own organization. An organization that participates in hazing, of any sort, can have their charter yanked. Most new member training involves learning about the history and such of the organization. Initiation and what goes on during initiation is a secret to all uninitiated members of the organization, but usually involves the divulging of secrets within the organization.
