Sounds like Strep Throat, if the back of your throat is red and has white spots, go to the doc and get checked. Strep will go away on its own, but can be quite serious and you will feel awful. It can also spread to other parts of the body and cause heart problems. I have gotten strep in my joints, very painful.

Its called a soar throat! Maybe Strep, drink OJ, take some benadryl & go to bed. If you really cannot breath you should do to an emergency room.

You could have strep throat which is painful and need to be treated or it will just get worse. I had it and it sucked and I couldn't breath, it hurt to move my throat, forget eating!

Do you still have your tonsils? See your doctor and have them check you for strep. In the time you took to write this question you could have called your doctor to set up an appointment. Get to it!!

Could be a bad rhinovirus (cold), flu or strep...if it doesn't start to feel better in a couple of days, see a doctor.
