If you have hard water that could cause your clothes to smell after you dry them. try putting half of cup of baking soda in when you wash your clothes and warm/cold wash instead of cold/cold. sometimes the cold/cold wash won't remove all the smells from clothes. hope that helps. If that doesn't work you may have a mineral deposit in your lines or something else you may want to look into a water purfier you can attach to your water line.

hi,

1). you can try and wipe the dryer well, with a damp cloth soaked in a fabric conditioner just before you put the clothes into dry.

2). you can always put a small face towel soaked in conditioner with the clothes you wish to dry.

3). you can get special tissue-type thin fabric sheets that you can buy in a box from a supermarket. put just 1 sheet with the clothes. cannot remember its name. sorry!!

4). after you have removed the clothes from the dryer, leave the door open so as to allow the machine to air-dry.

5). If your washer is still smelling bad, I would suggest whiping the inside but this time with diluted bleach or white vinegar. good luck!!

6). if all fails, get it checked out. make sure there is no stale stagnant water anywhere in the drum of the dryer or the pipes.

do you clean the lint trap out every time? if not you are going to have a fire and if your clothes smell sort of burnt now you are in serious trouble, use dryer softener sheets and it should smell good. you can spray some cologne on your laundry in the dryer if you want, you might have a dead mouse behind the dryer or even in the dryer tube to the outside if it smells like that, since you didnt say what the smell was its hard to tell , if it smells like burnt rubber then a belt is going bad, if the clothes smell before drying you might put a cup of white vinegar or a half cup of baking soda in the wash, both will help with odors and help disolve dirt as well.

Likely to be the washing of the clothes rather than the dryer. Try using faric softner sheets in the dryer - that will make them smell them nice xxxx

Clean the lint filter. Then make sure you are not over drying and baking the clothes. If left in over night and slightly damp that will stink. And a belt in the dryer that is going bad will make a smell sometimes. Do not put to many clothes in the washer and dryer. They should agitate and tumble dry loosely not in a knot.

What does it smell like? My clothes all smell like dryer sheets. Try using them. They give the wash a pleasant smell.

Put the clothes directly in dryer after they wash and if you have an older model like me and you have to dry them twice restart the dryer before it stops.
