Jaffer scored over one hundred runs in the 3rd test against South Africa. However, you do have a point that Dhoni would probably excel as a starting batsman. The only problem is that he was injured, so he could not play for the 3rd test in South Africa.
*Also, you need to learn how to spell!*

Dhoni should not be pushed to opening all of a sudden. He can be at the most put in No. 3 position if no early wicket falls. Jaffar, though failed in the recent test series, is a good opening batsman and should be persisted with. Shewag should be pushed down the order to enable him to regain his lost touch and form. Ganguly can be a good opener in ODI with Sehwag or Sachin.

yes, you are quiet right. the only in form batsman in India is dhoni. the others are only the whack backs who gets going in some innings. but despite of being a WC dhoni does played well enough against SA attack. Dada is in some form too.
and today they have dropped dhoni . selectors should be blamed.

ya, he may be brought to the top of the order, but definitely not as a opener 'coz if he opens, he sure is to become like Sehwag!!
