You should take your young children (if you have any). Also make sure you are talking the entire time, especially if you know what is going to happen next in the film. And it never hurts to kick the chair of the person sitting in front of you every so often.

Enjoy the show!

Ticket costs are usually different depending on the day you go and/or the time you do during the day. a afternoon weekday before 6pm its probably around 4-5 dollars. usually movie theatres will charge more on weekends and after 7pm. at about 7-9 dollars.

the box office is the glass protected place where people stand in line to buy their tickets. you ask for the movie at the time you want to see it (there should be a list of movie and it's showtimes throughout the day behind the cashier or on a wall close by) once you ask them they will ring it up, ask for an amount of money and print out tickets for you. IF the movie showtime is sold out they will tell you that its full. (usually for movies that come out on friday nights so get there early!) once you get the tickets you go into the lobby which is basically the place you enter *front doors* and sometimes there will be someone to get your tickets there and tell you to which side its on or where you should go to see find the room. the lobby is also the place where you can go buy expensive popcorn and other food items. you can also wait for friends or sit around as well as play games (if the theatre has a gameroom).

there will be different halls... usually two. one on each side of the lobby. there will be a list of movie titles at the TOP of the entrances. (usually kid movies will be on one side and R rated movies will be on the other side) but you look for the title of your movie and walk through the entrance and at some point there will be someone (if you havent already given the other half of your ticket stub) to take your ticket and tell you where to go. then you walk where they tell you. find the movie title again, but above/beside a door and walk in. its going to be dark. walk around to the front of the room and find a seat. watch the movie.

normally movie theatres are cold sometimes. so wear comfortable clothes and bring a sweater or a zipup/hoody.

IF THIS ALL FAILS, just do what the people in front of you in line do. ;)

really? well first you pick a theater and movie time... you can see the times in a newspaper, call their number for automated recording times, or look on their website...

then most people show up early to get a good seat. let's say 15-30 minutes early. but it depends on how popular that movie is (how new it is). the newer it is, the more people will be there. if you show up early, you just sit there in the theater. also if it's a brand new popular movie at night, it might sell out if you don't get there early enough or buy tickets online.

so anyway you show up to the front window, buy your tickets (about $8 at night - you can buy tickets to some theaters online). you can buy candy, popcorn and drinks but it's expensive. you go up to the podium, show the person your ticket and they tell you where your particular movie is playing like "2 doors down to the right" and you go in and find seats.

before the movie, a bunch of "previews" (commercials for movies) play, for 15 minutes or so. then the movie starts. and well that's about it :) going to the movies is fun, but it's pretty expensive.

one more thing: a lot of times theaters are COLD, so i'd bring a sweater or jacket especially if it's cold outside.

if you have to go to the bathroom during the movie, it's acceptable to do so. keep your ticket stub, it's for if you leave and come back, you can prove you already bought your ticket (if they make you prove it).

Depends on where you live. I live in Mass and the tickets are $10.00 a movie. I usually look up the movie times on line and then go to the cashier and buy a ticket to that movie. She gives you the ticket and tells you where to go. It's not hard just ask questions and you'll get what you want. Good Luck.

One movie ticket is about $7. But movie hopping isn't bad, you know, after the movie you paid for is done, just sneak in another. Lots of people do it, deffinately worth that 7 bucks. And when you buy the ticket, it tells you a number on it which room you have to go to in order to watch the film. Ex: 19E, just find it. And the cashier will tell you the directions, so don't worry.

After you pay at the ticket booth and find your theater you can choose any of the available seats in the theater. There's no assigned seating as you'd find at a concert or sporting event. Also, snacks and drinks from the theater's stand tend to be very expensive, so I usually take a discreetly packaged snack of quiet foods like a sandwich, pre-sliced fruit, shelled nuts, and a drink. Popcorn at our local theaters costs upwards of $5.00 and soda is about that much as well.
OUCH!
