Can you handle it?? Sounds like it bugs you bad or else you wouldn't be asking for advise--The thing is here is all you are getting is a window into the future--he will still leave his stuff all over the place after you get married--And if this is something you cant live with then you are with the wrong man--I am not saying that all people with bad habits cant be asked kindly to change and do--but lets say that's not the case--no matter what you say or how you say it he still clutters the house?? Is it a big enough thing to make you want a divorce?? If so then again don't let it get to that--Either you get him to reform before the I DO"S or you DON"T --With choosing a person to spend the rest of your life with you have to pick your battles carefully--like things you can and can't live with--its not that complicated--trust me there are things you do that bug him too--that's just human nature--
God Bless you in deciding this battle and the need to fight or give in --and just be prepared to pick up after him--

I assume by 'everything else he fiddles with', you mean you...when you pick yourself up off the floor, get him his own area to 'fiddle' in. Tell him that he's a big boy and that he needs to keep the common areas of the house neat and clean, if only out of respect for your feelings. As for his room, he can raise mushrooms in there for all you care, as long as his filth doesn't invade the rest of the house. Some guys never grow up or were boy scouts, even after joining the service; mommy picked up for them until they left home and they were never taught or accepted how to clean, do dishes, iron, do laundry, cook or sew. It's sad, but that's the way it is...

A lot of men do this. You just have to pick your battles. Don't fuss at him about it if you don't really want to have a fight that started over something like this.
My husband leaves his socks in the floor on a regular basis. I quit picking them up. I guess he finally got the hint and quit leaving them around as much. He still does it, but not as often as he used to.

nagging him won't help correct his lazy and sloppy ways. go online and buy a big leather paddle. wear his hinny out with it everytime you find a mess he has made. beat it good and hard. he'll catch on real quick and inside a week, he'll be trained to always clean up after himself. this method may sound severe, but it's 100% effective. men are lazy kids who will try to get away with everything you'll let them get away with. The time for talking and reason is over. Time has come to train your man.

Well I seem to have had the same problem that you do. I lived with it for a year. Forget all that BS advice about picking up after him. I told my man i wasn't going to put up with his **** any longer he disgusts me and i threatened to move out if he didn't start picking up after him self b/c i wasn't going to do it. I told him I'm not his mother and I'm not about to live the rest of my life like a slob. And you know what I know live in a nice clean house because he'd rather pick up after himself then lose me : )

You can't teach an old dog new tricks (as the saying goes) Once a slob always a slob. consider if he is worth your free time picking up after him for the rest of your time together. Did his mom or dad pick up after him? It maybe a pattern started from childhood.

This is obviously something that bothers you!
You must have known he was like this, so it makes me wonder why you got engaged to him.
Have you tried talking to him about this? and if you have, he evidentally didn't listen cause he's still doing it.
'case in point' If you plan on marrying this 'sloppy' guy then don't say you haven't been warned!
Men like that expect (take for granted) that the woman (wife, or
girlfriend) will pick up after him.
And men that think this way are usally 'very' chovanistic!!
SOOO, If you still intend to marry him, get ready to pick up for the rest of your life, they rarely change!
I 'was' married to one like this for 14 years.

Baby darling,
Be very diplomatic, and choose the right moment and tell him...But not as he is his fault, or something he must do (although this is the truth:)), but as a thing that needs to be done by both of you.
Good luck,
G.

Eau, that's nasty. Why you lower your standards, do you want to be Mrs. Nasty? Maybe leave your used Kotex on top of his piles, then watch how he comes to you about it. If he acts like an immature brat and verbally abuses you while you have been kissing his butt all this time, it will show you alot.
