i agree with the first amswer

what americans should be concerned and upset about is all of the american jobs being sent over seas. i live outside of detroit and the three (ford, gm, chrystler) are all sending jobs away from the states. we need a president the will create incentives for companies that keep jobs here and not concerned with starting wars that shouldnt be started. our president has comited the murder of now 3000 american men and women

You didn't make specifics, but it is easy to read between the lines on this.

I'm not Caucasian-American, but anyway, I know what kind of argument you are making. The answer is simple: You can immigrate to another country, and slowly over-take it, becoming the majority there, such as was done in South Africa.

As well, the "immigration" of minorities had to start somewhere, and at one point in time, I.N.S. was headed solely by White individuals, and someone from within decided to allow minorities into America. So, you can't really pit the blame on minorities first. It came from within.

The simple and concise answer is NO. Without immigration, there would never have been a United States.

Believe it or not, however, there have been calls for limits on immigration since the earliest days of the country, with different ethnic groups being singled out at different times. It just so happens that current sentiments are running against Mexicans.

Well , immigration started when Columbus landed and more and more and more euros came & then kept taking land from the local people . Eventually they succeeded in driving them to reservations and restricting their hunting and fishing they did for survival . Maybe now those immigrants will meet the same fate as the Indians , from the new immigrants.

Clairification: Who is 'we'? Are you concerned that 'white people' will become the minority?

The Canadian experience is that all races, religions, cultures and ethnic groups can assimilate, co-exist and thrive if the legal systems encourage multiculturalism. Only 9.5% of the US is foreign-born, compared to 16% in Canada.
