dont worry about it, its just a trick of the mind, its happened to me a number of times in various forms, its usually invisible hands that are choking me, and the more I fight it the stronger it gets, but if you just relax and clear your mind and be calm, it will go away.
You are paralyzed when during dream sleep (REM), so its not unusual.
Its a dream,. or at least the aftereffects of a dream. There have been times when I imagine all sorts of weird stuff when Im in between sleep and waking, like sometimes I will see what are like stock ticker tape going by on my wall, after waking from a dream, but its just the aftereffects of your dream mind interfering with your waking life.
You may still be awake actually when this is happening, but its like an aftertaste of a bad drink, it lingers for a bit, then goes away. Theres nothing supernatural going on here.

This is common, and there's a simple explanation. When you go to sleep, your body shuts off so you can dream but not hurt yourself. Then usually you stop dreaming, the body turns back on, and you wake up. For some people, this doesn't happen in the right order: the dream function is still going but you wake up, and the two overlap. Or, the body paralysis doesn't turn back on before you wake up. It takes a couple of minutes to sort out, but you're fine while it's happening. It's not unusual. You may experience it occasionally.

the world of dreams include the hypnogogic state, which is a "sort of awake, sort of asleep" state .you may be dreaming, but sounds going on around you can infiltrate your dreams,so that the two blend together to influence each other. along with the hypnogogic state is something called sleep paralysis. it is frightening, but very common. have you ever dreamed that you are trying to scream but nothing comes out? that ,at least in theory,is sleep paralysis, along with the inability to move.

No. However, I have had many identified sleeping life forms in my room who puzzled me; even caused me to stiffen in fear as to how they got there!

Yep. This has happened a few times. Ghosts? Mind tricks? I don't know, but it was scary for me, too.

Its spirits...
We have even had our homes blessed by preachers because of this.
Maybe you should try that & see if it helps.
