Since cricket is a game of uncertainties as has been proved on many occasions in the past nothign can be predicted for sure about the outcome of a tournament in advance.
As far as World Cup is concerned any prediction becomes more difficult as the Tournament is few months away and the players representing each team are not known at this stage. Further what will be the form of the players at the time of world cup also cannot be predicted.
Any prediction based on the past or present record of any team can go wrong as the ultimate recult will depend upon how a particular team perform during the world cup. Hence the fair prediction one can mke at this stage is that any tem from Australia, SouthAfrica, India, Sri Lanka, New Zeland, Pakistan, West Indies and finally England can cause upsets and win the Cup.

On current Form Australia look invincible . But cricket is a game of uncertainities and you never know when a sudden single rush of Wind blows away the Steady Ship ( inspired by Siddhuism !!! ) . A single bad day even for Aussies and they can be out .
South Africa would give them a good fight and don't underestimate Sri Lanka or Pakistan . On their day ,they can give anyone a run for their money . As for Indian Cricket Team , you can't predict them .

Australia.
At the moment I feel Australia, West Indies, Sri Lanka (or maybe SA) and Pakistan have the best chance of the semi's. then probably (depending on seedings) Aus v WI in final, Aus to win.
India have NO CHANCE. They got smashed in the caribbean less than a year ago, and have played poorly in every series since.

Cricket always has got some uncertainities in it.
In 2007 world Cup if a team could go through the League matches and enter the semifinals then anything can happen there.

If INDIA plays like "Team India" they have a chance to win the WC
If INDIA plays like "Team Chappel" they would be thrown out in first round.
