Duron is completely obsolete. Sempron is currently the low end model for basic computing.
Athlon comes in many different flavors. The original Athlon was very slow and is now obsolete. Athlon XP (socket A) was then released, and is very similar to Sempron. Following that is Athlon 64, which comes in both socket 754 and socket 939. After that, Athlon 64 X2 was released, which is kinda like Athlon 64 except dual core and available in faster speeds, as well as the AM2 socket. There is also Athlon 64 FX, which is considered to be the high end model, although the earlier Athlon 64 FX models that were released are considered low end by today's standards.

ATHLON. The durons have Half L2-cache on them compared to the other two. And the Sempron is simliar to the Duron but newer. I tell people when you hear Sempron is like a Celeron equal. And the Athlon is like the Pentium 4 series which is now renamed to just Intel
