We entered the year 2007, will the government fall down?
Will the oposition close the Port and Airport Road?
Will a civil war happen?

I am coming back to Beirut after a business trip outside Lebanon, is it safe for me to come now or shall I wait? Is everything open fine in Beirut or most are closed? (offices and shops I mean?)

well i think although there is a lot of political tension in lebanon, the situation will not turn into a war because the lebanese learned their lesson.
the government is strong and supported by most lebanese, so it is impossible for it to fall in the street especially that the opposition reached a dead end.
As for the shops and offices they are normally opened and lebanon had a wonderful new year's eve .
So after the long vacation we had hear in lebanon, things today started to return to normal and the prime minister is doing right now a conference showing his future plans.
therefore i advice you to return to lebanon and not worry

If Hezbollah and its ilk begin to dominate the Lebanese govt. you can kiss any freedom you have good bye. War will break out between Lebanon and Israel. Syria will take the northern half of Lebanon and Israel the lower. You will see a regional middle east war being played out in Lebanon by Israel Iran and Syria add in the political instability in Iraq Afghanistan, and possibly KSA and you have WW3. that is only one scenario I can add more but I don't have the patience to give an in depth analysis.

hmmmm
I think Lebanon is going to be the same,
all politics going on and sh*t stuffs happening!
But yea it is safe, offices and shops are all opened,
Lebanese ppl are still living their lives as usual.
Like for example, when there was war in Lebanon
u know last year, shops where opened and resturants
were full of ppl!!
So I guess this hole thing now that is happening in Lebanon
is normal, and hope nothing will happen!!

Edit~OMG do u actually think Hezbollah killed the prime minister?
LMFAO
And no honey they are not running from the truth!!!
Its so crystal clear, but u guys just need to open ur ears
and eyes alittle more wider!!!

tense will continue,as long as the extremist nasralla will stay on the poor land of beautiful Lebanon. as long bunkers will be digged instead of plowing the ground for agriculture purposes.war will continue as long Syrian army will be involved, and war will be the life of Innocent citizens up to the moment they'll decide to take their own life in hand and fight for free Lebanon ,the old "Paris of the middle east".i know it, cous my brother was fighting in Lebanon last summer,I'm from Israel and know it from 1982, the first real war with Lebanon. and you business man must know it very well.

Christians need to raise their heads, and kill Hezbollah.
If Christians keep acting like sheep, nothing good will happen.

no one knows what will happen next

nobody cares anymore, we just want this chaos to end and we want to go on with our lives.

I'm sorry can't help you, coz I really dunno...maybe you should ask Michel Hayek(he's the Lebanese Nostradamus)
