Girlfriend recently called it off with me cos her mum won't accept us, we were together for over two years she said she still loves me but can't stand the fighting between her mother. I am her first love. Any chance of her coming around, it's only been a week and we work together. If she really loved me would she choose me?

HERE. Now listen. Do NOT marry her. If her mother could talk her out of it, she isn't solid enough to last in a marriage. Your spouse comes before anyone else. If I was married, and I had to pick between my wife's well being and everyone else in my family's (Mother, Father, Sister, etc) it is hands down her. I would want to, choose to, and be obligated to do so. She is your SPOUSE- they are unconditionally first.

It's not abt she really loved you then she should choose you over her mom. Family is fam, a mother is everything. She needs to get her mother to know you better. If she still dislikes you after your gf makes all those efforts, then you have a talk with her mom and politely and respectfully ask her why she doesn't like you. Be a gentleman. Treat her mother with respect. If her mother is a good mother, she'll see your true love in trying to be serious with her daughter. Don't sneak behind her in having a relationship with her daughter, that's just being a coward.

If she loves you, she will move out of her mum's place & get back with you.
If she is only using her mum as a scapegoat, then it's really over & you need to move on.

family always comes first. even if she chooses you over her mother you still should'nt get married because for the rest of her life she'll resent you for breaking her away from her family.

Its not the question of choosing.Mothers are important. You should go and meet her mother and try to make her understand about your relationship. I am sure you will convince her and she will understand.
