Which is better, liquid or jell to unclog a drain in the kitchen?

Neither. Both are marketing tools.

remove the trap and rod the drain pipe.

Neither one to be honest try the clean out vulve under your house, and if that doesnt work you may want to use a device called a snake. I find those work really well. drain openers can and will eat up your pipes.

You need something heavy like "Liquid plumber/commercial" in the gray plastic bottle. If that don't work, call a plumber. Marketing tool maybe but work, rather then call a plumber for maybe $75.00 for something that might work. In the business for 47 years and had 125 four plex units.

they both work use a plunger or remove the nut on the bottom of the trap if you dont have a plumbers snake use a coat hangar to pull out the clog

None of the above! Chemicals are only a temporary solution! use a hardware "snake" to get rid of the clog!

I prefer the liquid. I never had any luck with the gel.
