To leave our mark on man kind.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Yes. To find the purpose of our existance

seriously, I mean, there is a purpose to everything - even if you meet a person - it has some purpose... either one of you will be in need of that friendship or there will be something to be learnt which will help you in your life.

Some times we become the angel and sometimes we become the human being getting the blessing of the angel (from the above scenario). In everthing you do, say in relationships, if you analyze, you will actually realize that this theory is 90% applicable.

That is how I feel.

Your purpose is the same as us all... existence. You have answered your own question. God, nature, Allah, Yahweh, or who ever you chose has created mankind. All I know is I'm damn glad we are here. Cheers... that's purpose enough.

Now I say the fact that you even ask that question means the world needs more humanitarians. You see the more people help others... and the more they help others... the more you see happen in the world. Learn to conserve the world so that man may discover new heights... continue our endless struggle for knowledge which has been engraved in our animal souls since the days of Eden.

Yes life... I'll drink to that

Yes, doing what we can for our fellow man. What is life if we can't make things better on the way for others. It's the key to the greatest ego trip of all time. Knowing, in the end, you made a difference in the world.
Think about being the next Mother Theresa, or Albert Schweitzer. Do little things to help others. It'll feel sooo good.

The purpose of our existence is to enjoy love whether in the material world or the spiritual world.

As human beings we have to intelligence to possibly realize our true eternal nature beyond the temporal biological existence. So as humans one crucial purpose is to work on realizing our true eternal existence. However, beyond this, the ultimate purpose of our existence is love relationships and love reciprocations.

Your life has all the purpose you attribute to it. Seriously, it is a life-search and no-one will be able to satisfy you with their answers. You are seeking and if you seek earnestly, you will find your own answers.

Good luck and enjoy your search.
