Have you ever read a book and fallen in love w/ a character? Me and my friends call it "book love" or a "book crush" lol i know i know... sounds really pathetic but it happens!
its just so wrong that your dream guy or girl (whatever) is made up, and in a BOOK! lol
I just read Avalon High by Meg Cabot and Will ( one of the characters) is just...really awesome!!!!! There shoul be a Will somewhere in the real world!
Any way has this happened to any one else, or is it just Me and my weirdo friends?

Falling in love with a character in a book is a two edged sword. It gives you a standard to look for, but you might not find anyone like you find in a work of fiction. Romance is wonderful, but stay grounded in a little reality. Of course, just watch, you'll meet someone like Will and make me look stupid. Keep on dreaming. After all, who am I to tell you you're not Cinderella?

Perhaps you can draw some comfort from the fact that there is a very thin line between extreme genius or talent and insanity. I too am mentally ill, and I take meds and have a psychiatrist. I am also a Jew, and while fundy-type Christianity (or Islam) may be a more accurate manifestation of insanity than Judaism, the Jewish community is liberally laced with outstanding medical professionals who can help you with your issues, and Jews are quite tolerant of insanity as a rule. You may want to consider conversion. finally, I know nothing about your physical appearance or hygeine, and what little I can guess about your sexual conduct, based on our brief contactship, I like quite well. But your intellectual abilities are not questionable, and, as former President of the USA Andrew Jackson once said, "It's a mighty dumb man who can't figure out at least two ways to spell a word." He was accused of being a poor speller when he was actually an unappreciated genius. Finally, most mental institutions will allow patients to have a laptop, and they have wireless internet access. at least, this is true in the USA. hope this helps---dryBri

Yes, very much so, and then you go through life, looking for that person you found in the book. I've truly inlove with Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejuidce, so then I got the other 2 books, "Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife," & "Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth," by Linda Berdoll. I was hoping to read lmore about Mr. Darcy and his gentlemen ways, but I haven't read it all the way through.

Perfectly normal. When I was a teen I'd read those silly mushy teen love novels and I'd fall in love with the hunk in the story and of course in "my" fantasy "I" was his love interest. It's all fun. But I'm so over that. I traded fantasy for reality and although fantasy is fun reality is much better. It keeps me saner. Happy New Year.

In comic books, it would the X-Men Psylocke (one of Wolverine's sidekicks). She's hot. She looks like those Asian model chics from Import Tuner magazine with a sexy British accent.

That happens to me, too--
Raistlin from the Dragonlance Chronicles
Vlad Taltos from the Taltos series by Stephen Brust

It's always the bad guys--people I would never like in real life. :P

I don't think it's insane at all. Character doesn't have to be the person, it can also mean personality. So you fell in love with Will's personality, perhaps?

It's happened to me before, so you're not alone.
