There are many many theories,fairytales,folktoles and stories on that.Some scientists have even claimed that they know. But honestly, no living human actually knows the answer to that question.
We can guess or we can agree on a fantastic story,but even if every human on the planet agreed to the story, its still a story.
I shall share my strory, you can belive it if you wish.
The world, this world that I am presently on, is substance or mass and matter. It is a sphere becuase I have sailed it and have spoken to or with many others that have travelled all over it.
We think or agree that at one instant time began when time began was when matter was formed.The matter that was formed became spheres, and one of these spheres is classified as the world.

'The' world? Do you mean THIS world? THIS world comes from a bunch of matter circling a star, which eventually cooled, changed, gave birth to life and then became what it is now a few million years later. Not PHILOSOPHY, just astro-physics.

go to a science teacher they'll tell you how the world formed. how this world formed. if i remember correctly the gravitational pull takes material that is flying around and just forms a huge ball..called a planet....i think..
