Does anyone have suggestions, from personal experience, on how to make maintaining a relationship in law school easier? Personal experience and strong supported advice will earn the best answer, and my thanks.

The other partner just has to understand how much time law school demands. It's not a big deal. I went to a first tier law school. Many of us had relationships prior to law school. If you've got it together enough to go to higher ranked law school, you've probably got it together enough to have researched what law school is like and let your significant other know so they won't be surprised when you're suddenly a lot more busy.
We had several couples get together in law school. In that case, it's easier for them cuz the partner knows exactly what law school is like and they can even schedule their required law school stuff together.
Law school takes a lot of time. Aside from the mounds of reading you get, you also have research projects, moot court/law review, clinics to gain experience, preparing for internships/jobs, etc. There's far less free time than in undergrad so you have to schedule dates, etc. You need to get your reading done in certain classes otherwise the prof will rip you a new one the next day.
What this means is if you've got a very needy or high maintenance partner, things don't look good. It's prolly a good idea to dump them anyways cuz things don't get much better timewise once you're a practicing lawyer.

My class in law school wasn't exactly small and there was exactly one relationship. Toward the end of the third year, girls started coming in with diamond rings, and they definitely weren't getting them from the male law students. The average law student is a 25 year old virgin of either sex.
