I wrote a pilot script that would be good for the A&E Network or Bravo TV. Are there pitch sessions in New York? Can I send a script to a TV producer safely?

You're not going to get anyone legit to look at anything unless it's submitted through a certified agent. Studios are too paranoid about plagiarism lawsuits to do anything otherwise. You should register your script with the Writers Guild, regardless, for your own protection and then start looking for an agent.

You need an agent to represent you. There are staff writers for most of the television shows.

Buy a copy of Writer's Market. It lists names/addresses of agents for Writer's. Contact some of them regarding your script proposal to A&E and Bravo, and ask if they can assist you getting the script in the hands of a "reader" for the shows.
