I don't know...I could be wrong, but it's so strange for me to believe that Saddam with all his wealth and power was caught in a hole unshaven and dirty. I just think that a man of his stature and especially with his wealth could have escaped anywhere he wanted...even made a living underground; he could have seeked refuge with his powerful friends as well. Another thing....we are aware that Saddam had many look-alikes...again with the kind of money he had he could have paid for someone to have some type of surgery to look identical to him. I know that the government examined every possible detail of the Saddam we captured to make sure he was in fact the real one....but perhaps they could have lied??.....I mean....our government hasn't been very honest in the past.....this could be just another hoax......just what I think....

You know, I have often had that nagging little thought rumbling around in the back of my mind, but I don't really think we have the wrong man, here. I can't really imagine that one of his look-a-likes would be willing to uphold the lie all the way to the gallows. That would be SOME dedication to the Baathist Party and to a deposed leader!

You're pulling our legs right? JFK wasn't really in the motorcade that fateful day in 1963 either, right?
Edit:He was in US custody under constant monitoring for quite a while. I am sure that someone wold have noticed he was an impostor. Remember also he was thoroughly checked out by doctors and if I remember correctly with some Red Cross involvement. Surely you know better than think the US government would ever lie to it's citizens and the world at large.

The DNA tests were conclusive, and Saddam's demeanor after his capture pretty much proves that he was the real thing.

No, he was in US custody, they have his DNA, you can bet they were there to take a sample from his body after he was hung. You will see in all the video's one face that was not hooded but was obscured. This was no doubt a US rep.
Our goverment is sure the correct may was hung.
