I've heard that you can go blind, or some other crazy stuff, is this true? And if you know, when is the next eclipse suppost to occur. I am from California. Thanks.

Lunar eclipse - no problem.
Solar eclipse - a problem.
But if you're in the area where the sun is TOTALLY eclipsed, and you look at it only while the sun is totally eclipsed, then you won't see the sun at all, so you won't hurt your eyes.
And if you look at it just before the sun disappears completely behind the moon, or just as it begins to reappear, you will see only a small fraction of the sun's total brightness, which will not likely cause harm. The question is, exactly how much of the near-total eclipse you can see without causing any harm whatsoever, and that I don't know.

There's nothing special about the light during a solar eclipse. You shouldn't look directly at the sun, and certainly not with binoculars or a telescope, but that's true whether or not there's an eclipse.

You will suffer severe probably permanent damage to your retina! DO NOT, for any reason whatsoever, stare directly at the sun without proper eye protection, and I don't mean sunglasses from the gas station either.

it actually depends on lunar or solar eclipse but assuming ur talking abt solar eclipse ...i advise u not to look at it as the uv rays from the sun are pretty bad for ur eyes...in other words...UR GONNA GO BLIND!!!!!

The lens will focus the sun on your retina, which will literally burn it, as in fry. You will be rendered blind in less than two minutes. Please, don't try it. The pension for the blind is rather small.
