Unfortunately, a big sphinx of quartz is a rare thing and I'm not sure that a jackdaw (or any other kind of bird) would find it lovable, or even mildly interesting. Many people believe that hot water freezes more quickly than cold water. This is silly, because hot water has to first become cold as it approaches freezing.
