AHH!

I don't mean to scream or go flaming on you, but this is really serious, so please listen to me and follow my advice:

DO NOT GO ONLINE TO FIND AGENTS OR AGENCIES. EVER.

99.9% of what you'll find will be scams. The other 0.1% will be too hard to find. Just start locally and work your way up. School plays are a great way to start. :)

Call the Office of the Mayor, in the city where you live. Ask if there is a film commission or website that posts movies, films or commercials, that may be filmed in your city.

The agents in New York City and Los Angeles, represent actors that are members of the theatrical unions, SAG, AFTRA and AEA.

If you build your resume with "Extra work," you may, at some point, be able to get into into a theatrical union.

The Talent Agents you see online are NOT legitimate agents and cannot help your career. They only want to separate you from your money.

Legitimate talent agents CANNOT advertise online, in newspapers, magazines, flyers, or any publications.

You will ONLY find scam agents advertising online that will charge you a lot of money for audition information that you can easily find yourself by (1) communicating with other actors (2) reading (acting related newspapers, such as Backstage.com, (3) being in an acting class and talking to acting students, as well as, the teacher regarding current or future auditions.

All franchised Talent Agencies must be a member of The Association of Talent Agents.

There must be a free website for acting agents. Where are you located? If you're in a large area there must be agents listed in the phone book.

There are two websites I found. You should never have to pay anyone before you sign a contract with them. Good Luck, or as they say: Break a leg.

You dont need an agent to start acting, you need talent and knowledge. Classes, more classes, then experience, THEN an agent. In that order. Otherwise youre fooling yourself.
