A tampon is a plug of cotton or other absorbent material inserted into a body cavity or wound to absorb fluid. The most common type in daily use is a usually disposable plug that is designed to be inserted into a woman's vagina during her menstrual period to absorb the flow of blood. The use of these devices has caused serious health related issues, such as infection and even death in rare cases (see Toxic shock syndrome). In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates tampons as medical devices.

Tampons are alternatives to pads. They both function in the same way (to absorb menstrual blood) but designed differently. A tampon goes inside your body to absorb blood and I recommend it because it is more comfortable than pads. It could take a while to learn to wear them right though.

I don't want to sound rude but if you don't know about tampons maybe you don't know about menstrual and possibly you should ask your mother or female family member. Well, tampons are like maxi pads except instead of putting them on your panties you put them inside of you and it absorbs the blood from your menstrual. Hope that helps.

u must be under 12 or a guy. Go to the store, and head over to the womens' section. You'll see them along with Pads. Or go to the dictionary and find out. You don't deserve an explaination from me about them. Good luck kid.

It's for women during their menstrual cycle(I won't explain that, trust me you don't want to know what that is). We also use pads too. That's enough information!
