Sehwag has performed terribly in all the past matches. He has been averaging only 14 runs in one days and tests in South Africa. If we can sit Dada (Sourav) and Pathan then we should sit out Sehwag as well.

I do not think dropping Sehwag is totally justified. He has been plagued in the current series with poor BATTING form, AS AN OPENER. So have Sachin and Dravid. The simple reason is that none of these stalwarts is a natural opener, but are makeshift openers, who were sent in when no regular opener was found to be successful. Merely the coincidence that Sehwag and Sachin clicked as openers in a few recent series did not automatically qualify them as regular openers. Hence, sending in Sehwag, Sachin or Dravid to open or go one down was unfair to these stalwarts. Coming to Sehwag, he is a useful middle order batsman, useful spinner and an outstanding fielder. The right course of action would be to retain him for the middle order and see him perform before pronouncing any final judgement on him

Sehwag is a great player has scored centuries against most of the test playing nations like ganguly and tendulkar. So if ganguly can be dropped for poor scores, sehwag or tendulkar are doing nothing better and they both should be dropped. Also give chances to match winners than performers.

Actually ur question is wrong. there is no need of dropping sehwag from team. Cos he is a kind of batsman who takes a 20 or 30 overs to get back his confidence. It would be regained at any time. he is under tremendous pressure in the 3rd test match against RSA. He can definitely move his feet and get a good score under his belt. Pls dont discourage any players when he is out of form which happened to ganguly. But it is necessary to instruct them about their bad form, but in a formal manner not by dropping him. it is wat actually done by the team management now.Just keep in mind 1 thing sehwag is the key man for india in WC 2007.If he fires tre then WE could definitely have a chance to ease into the semi finals . am not a fan of sehwag . just a fan of india .

There is no question of form for players like Sehwag... they are always in and out of form... Its his consistency in throwing away his wicket, i think the reason to drop him...he has very little patience... lets see if less pressure down the order does something and whether he will be able to get some runs under his belt...

Do not be ignorant, we haven't seen him playing since a very long time.He is unable to correct himself in spite of getting so many chances.if a young promising alrounder like pathan has been send back for lack of performance why should he be spared, in fact, sehwag should retire and give chance to others..BCCI is too much lenient towards players like sehwag and tendulkar. they should be strict irrespective of name, fame and status.let the waiting talent get a chance.. India is a country with abundant talent .Go for a hunt uncorrupted, one will find plenty of them...

Lack of form really. The wickets in SA suits his type of play and still he is finding it difficult. Further, he has to show patience to play a long innings. Right from the word go, we just can not start hitting out at everything. Till he discovers this fact, it is better to drop him.

I think, it's over confidence as in case of many Indian players where they think that their place in the team is taken for granted. It happens only in the Indian cricket team where a player gets numerous chances in spite of constant failures whereas the others sit out totally untried. Moreover, your botheration about repeated failures is at a very low level when you see that your captain as well as other so called senior players are not performing at a level where they are required so.

Before Saying anything let me share a happy with you that he is still in team.Everybody is having some time like this. If we are considering his overall performance he is so good. He is not be in form now but it doesn't mean that he will not come in his old form by hitting a good score.Thats what he is done before like one he done at Pakistan.

there is not one but many reasons to drop hm out of the side , he deserves to seat on the bench and carry drinks for the players on field:

1> his inconsistency to perform.
2 > his consistent failures.
3> his inability to adept to different conditions.
4> world class players perform well in all conditions and not only in batsmen friendly conditions like multan where he scored 329.
