Hey I just did this today myself. What you gotta do and yes it does take time. You need to take everything out of your closet, yes even your clothes. Go thru everything and decide what is garbage and what is not. For your clothes, get rid of what you don't wear, is too big or small or just plain old don't like. For things that you do keep but don't use that much, store them in storage totes. Your clothes you can do the same thing, keep your summer clothes put away during the winter and same during the summer time. Then once it is all decided on what you are keeping and put in totes or what not, put back that stuff into your closet nice and organized.

Get a friend, mix a few drinks, send the hubbey out with the kids, throw a closet cleaning party! My best friend and I clean each others closets once a month! All closets, cabinets, and drawers. The whole house.

take out everything. look at what you have. If you have 1 billion pairs of jeans and you only wear 5 of them, you probably shouldn't keep all of them.

in feng shui there is one golden rule. Clutter is bad. And clutter includes everything that you do not need in your wardrobe.

make three piles: keep, give away, throw away. If you haven't worn it in the past year, throw it out. Closets are not for storing anything except clothes so don't keep crap in them.

in reorganizing your closet remember to make a place for every piece of clothing and clothing sections. make the most used pieces of clothing the most accessible.

Underwear and socks go in drawers or baskets. Keep the easy cotton clothes folded so you don't have to constantly mess with hangers.

1) give all the clothes that you do not wear or are too small to charity or to people you know will use them.
2) you could use old t-shirts to clean with
3) to save on closet space, fold all the clothes that don't need ironing
4) colour co-ordinate all the clothes you hang
5) seperate, put all jeans together, skirts, dresses, blouses.
6) keep the dresses or long skirts at the sides of the wardrobe, so it looks better
7) hang suits together & sets in the same hanger to save in space
8) do not hang your handbags & purses as they will take too much space

take everything out of it, lay it out on your bed, try all the clothes on, what doesnt fit, what you havent worn for a year, what needs repair, and what you wear a lot, give away anything you havent worn in a year or what doesnt fit, if you arent into repairing things give away what needs repair, then organize what you use a lot, if you can put an extra bar on with chains and hooks on the top you can hang skirts and blouses and jeans two layers deep that way. now what else is in there, do you use it? do you really want it? do you need it? if no is the answer, give it away or some things you just need to throw out. things that need folded should be in drawers or on shelves in the closet. you dont need a dozen purses, you dont need 30 pairs of shoes, if you arent going to wear a formal again, swap with a friend, sell to a used gown shop, or something, wedding dresses need to be cleaned and packed in proper wedding dress storage if you really must keep it. ive started doing this since i moved out west, and that closet was full to over stuffed when i got here, now there is room for both of us to keep our clothes in there, and suitcases and the blankets and extra set of sheets. a friend gave me five trash bags of sheets and towels, i kept three towels and one set of sheets, then i passed the rest along to an animal rescue place that uses lots of sheets and towels to care for wounded animals. give away odd dishes and missmatched stuff. i found out a blender she gave me didnt work so off to the chairty place. im going to go through my jewelry soon too. we just dont need a fourth of what we keep, maybe less than that.

If is a clothes closet, this can be really easy. If it is only YOUR clothes, that makes it even easier.
Try everything on. Sell, donate or ditch anything that:
a.Doesn't fit.
b.Doesn't flatter you.
c.Doesn't go with anything else that you have.
d.You hate.
That includes the sweater knitted by your Great Aunt Mabel, with the caveat that you put it on one last time for a photo, to be sent to Great Aunt Mabel along with that belated thank you letter. That way she can never say you didn't appreciate her efforts.
Best wishes.

well, you can start by going through all of your clothes and shoes that you have and give the things that you don't want,or don't fit in to a local charity, and then get some crates the color of your room if you want to and organize it into those or you get shelves.
