RE: was or was not Bill Clinton a good President? Was or was not Bill Clinton a Good President? not talking about the personal life drama. Did he or did he not accomplish whatever he said he was gonna do if he become President. If he Did do. What makes you guys think that Hillary will not do what she said she'll do? Does it make since?

I served two years in AmeriCorps, and it was great. It is a great way to get people involved with volunteerism. It's a shame that Bush had to change the name to "USA Freedom Corps". As if AmeriCorps wasn't patriotic enough? Why not call it the "Justice League of America" LOL.

It paves the way for enforced Universal Service Obligation.
If one objects to becoming an Imperial Storm Trooper, then one is shunted off into a civilian Service Obligation rather than the military draft.
Either way, you would still be "contributing to the war effort", although the military will sneer at you that you are at least freeing up a "real" man for combat duty. It is the sad nature of things, Governments, kingdoms, slavery, all are branches of the same root.
One man or group of men can say "Behold, I have more power than you, you must do as I bid you!" to another group of men.
Do you know, in the military, there is no such thing as a non-combatant job specialty? You are either Combat or Combat Support. Medical personnel are used in the same way Vehicle or Weapons Systems Maintenance personnel are, each soldier/sailor/marine/airman is regarded as nothing more than a weapon, a more highly adaptable weapon but still only a tool for killing. The doctors and medics and nurses are to keep that tool in working order, so the tool can kill.
Even the Chaplain's Corps is combat support. They are to maintain the morale of the fighting killing tools by reassuring them that God didn't mean "thou shalt not kill" as long as you kill the "enemy" (never described as "people") under orders from Your Superiors.
Single murder committed for reasons which suit your individual needs or morals.... baaaaaddddd.
Thousands or even conceivably millions of murders done because somebody told you to good......
What they don't tell you is that you really don't have a duty to murder for your government. You don't have an obligation to "serve" your government.
They tell you that in the Bible is written "Honor God, and obey the king". And that obeying the king is the way to honor God.
Yet they don't tell you is that proverb didn't come from God, it came from either KING David or KING Solomon.
David took the throne after a long rebellion against Saul, who was publicly anointed by the prophet Samuel, and expressly against the wishes of God. David was subsequently anointed --secretly-- by Samuel. His son Solomon was the second son of Bathsheba, the Hittite, wife of Uriel, David's most loyal captain. Who was killed under David's orders to cover up the fact that David was sleeping with his wife. Solomon was famous for being extremely wise, and for building the Temple to God on Mount Zion.
He was also reputed to be really stupid when it came to women, and was husband to a total of a thousand. And built temples to their lower-case g gods even on Mt Zion.
Neither of these two had a solid and well accepted claim to a throne, but of course they would not have spread the idea that God commanded the people to obey them for any kind of selfish or immoral purposes, now would they?
Yet that proverb is taken as a commandment even today. And in any discussion about the morality of war or the thought that one has a duty to serve the government (not the people, although that claim will also always be made) that proverb is sure to come up.
Which is a long way around telling you, you owe your people, your nation, dissent rather than consent, when faced with government orders. Questioning orders is not only more intelligent and rational than blind obedience, it is more patriotic as well.
As for throwing away government money, military adventures in the US have consistently cost more than all the "social welfare" programs combined.
And in this current Operation Enduring War Against Freedom, the rebuilding of Iraq and Afghanistan are projected to outstrip all the welfare spending since the beginning of those programs in the 1930s, combined.

It was a good idea, you do not hear anything about it any more because Bush does not know about anything except what his own people tell him about. Some times it seem Bush thinks he is the only president we have ever had. He does not even seem to know that his own dad was once president.
