Seriously. I would like to do something nice for someone. If you have a sob story that is worthy, maybe you can get something out of me?

I am partially blind right now so typing a long message is difficult. Please forgive my use of the phrase "sob story" when referring to my desire to hear your (how do you say it) stories that I might be able to help you with, in some crazy online internet way.

Here's my sob story I am living in a trailer house that is older than I am. I had a gas stove well it almost caught the place on fire so there is no more stove cookin' on a hot plate bakin' out of toaster ovens. The floors are bad a lot of the windows are broken thank God for duct tape (it works pretty good) the roof is bad every time it rains I go running through the place with buckets to catch the rain the sad part is I'm not the only adult that lives here but he wont help me do anything to try to fix it. it is paid for now so hopefully I will be able to start repairs on it as soon as I start back to work (got laid off for winter) If it is still standing that is. I sleep in the living room on an air mattress ( my little girl's crib is in the living room as well no room to move in there)because the ceiling fell in in the bed room(I call it a junk room now and use it for storage where i can) there has been a tarp on the roof for years now and it finely gave way and is no longer covering it . I called 3 contractors to come out and level the place because out of about 10 cinder block stacks only 3 are holding up the front of it all of then said that it needed to be fixed BUT none of them would come back to fix it. I think I just need a new house! maybe one of these days I hope;-) WOW venting helped a lot thanks for reading!

Your generous offer is indeed heartwarming especially in these days. I, too, was put off with the "sob story" line so thank you for explaining. Anyway, I don't have a sob story but I hope you can indeed reach out to everyone here who answers your question or will be helped out by other readers of this forum. That would be NICE indeed!

That's a nice thought but I don't think there's anything aside from maybe a prayer for the people out there less fortunate than yourself, that will do, maybe you could make a donation to some charity or something, I don't really know, but in reality it's just the thought that really counts anyway.Being grateful for what you have and thanking God for that and like I said before giving prayers to others is really nice. :)

I was really touched by what I thought would be such anonymous generousity.....until I saw the wording that followed. "Give me a sob story and maybe I'll throw you a bone"? Why don't you just say something like," Hey, I'm a prick looking for a power trip, so how 'bout all you desperate losers let me make you feel like crap for being less fortunate? "
Atleast THAT would be genuine of you.

Yes you can pray for my daughter She has cancer. and although she is better she has to have another test to go through tomorrow. She is also having surgery on her finger and a hernia, that is very large. That would be the best help anyone could give me. Thank you in advance.

there are plenty of single parents (male and female) who need help, some are on the edge.... homeless. majority of the homeless are families. or they need a car to get a job, or their car just broke down, or their child needs a backpack for school.

so thats what i need.... to know that someone is out there trying (and making) a difference.

yup.

If you really want to do something nice for someone, drop the attitude.
