I could feel that spear in my back as we type. but you know what, I'd try to just run side by side but I know for a FACT that she'd be trying to trip me or something *out of panic of course* so I'd try to one up her and then I bet we'd both get speared in the back for being selfish. karma karma.

*This* is where having either a spear of your own, or a firearm preferably, works so well....all you have to do is cripple one of the cannibals up front of the pack, and the scent of the blood should trigger a feeding frenzy that will let you *and* your buddy just plain *walk away*. :D
Hell, now that I think of it, just about anything you could throw with reasonable accuracy could do this, from a baseball to a ninja shuriken (throwing star) to an African throwing iron to a Lawn Dart. And the farther away you can throw it from the better your odds are...in fact....
I daresay the perfect time to do this would be pre-emptively, before they really start to pursue you. =)) As in, get them thinking about *eating* and not hunting, and do it from as far a distance as you can so you have the farthest head start.
Or....you could just find some carcass of a random dead critter (plenty of those in a jungle), get you and your friends smelling all *filthy and rotten* and dead, and they won't touch you....
But then again, you'd end up with hyenas and/or vultures to worry about at some point with that one. :)
Still, you get the point....it isn't about out-running them, the natives aren't *pampered* like we are, and are going to both be in better shape and know the terrain.
It is about out-smarting them and playing off of their customs, taboos, and so on....

I would throw myself at the mercy of the cannibals to take me and let my friend go.........all because I love to be "eaten". Goodbye friend, dont you dare worry about me, I'll just be over here getting "eaten".

if i really cared for the friend and thought that the person would be able to make it i would be a decoy while he/she would run away. but if the friend is fat and slow i would trip that person and save myself.

il tell my frend that they shouldnt get neither 1 of us..

I'd distract them and let my friend RUN. Since I'm such a badass, I doubt they'd be able to take me.
