Emergency services (Emergency medical, police, Fire Department, etc) have little choice in what software they can use. The government uses a system called NFIRS (National Fire/Incident Reporting System) to keep statistics of fire calls, fire causes and national statistics. There are very few choices for emergency services software and MOST of them are OVERPRICED.

If you are looking to get into a niche market which can concievably make you a boatload of money....write software that will cater to the emergency services in EVERY WAY.....including customizations/new modules and offer it for WELL UNDER what is being asked by the competition and you may have a chance of making it.

Just an opinion which has no specific basis in any scientific statistic........
