There is something in there to prevent people from syphoning gas in newer vehicles, you have to remove the gas tank and then syphon out of it.

You can't siphon from the tanks anymore . There is a ball installed in the tank that covers the fill hole if the vehicle should overturn to keep gas from spilling, and a hose will not pass.
That feature goes back to 1987 that I know of because my '87 Dakota has it.

remove the back hose off the inline fule filter..using the fuel pump test connector, stick gem clip ends into the 2 slots to make pump run. gas comes out the hose..

TANK JUST LIKE THE OIL PAN HAS . SO LOCATE IT UNDER
UNDER YOUR TRUCK. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT.
