In slavery you do not get to choose. You are told what you will do, how you will do it, when you will do it and not get paid for it. The room and board you speak of is usually in squalid, infested conditions and the food is scraps after others have eaten. A slave is not allowed to leave to find "work" elsewhere or look for better conditions. Slaves are held and treated like they are nothing. When you work for a living you have a choice of what type job, you are able to negotiate your wages and do what you want with the money earned. You can buy the type food you want. You can determine your own worth with education and experience. There are still rules to follow, but you have freedoms outside of your work.

I believe someone who is truely dedicated to there work is the difference, if you like it then it is no longer slavery. Its your choice, that is why you have to look at a job as more than money but as something you want to wake up and do everymorning. I rather take a lower pay and enjoy my work then be paid very well and hate it and feal like a slave. I hope this helps you...

Slavery, you work when someone else wants you to, for no pay, and very little comfort. They do not even have to feed or clothe you if they wish not to. You will work as long as they tell you to and do what they tell you to, even if you can't. They have the right to laugh at or punish you for every effort you make.
Work is a compensated action where they pay you for your time and effort. They do not hire you if they think you can't do the job. Even if they pay you little they still pay you.

well usually you get paid for work.......while slavery you are forced to labor till you drop with no recompense.
that being said, sometimes you slave at work with minimal pay and benefits........that is where the line may be blurred for some folks with no concept of slavery.

your right, being a slave is way more fun...........and I like fun
but, what stinks is that if your a slave, you don't get to pick what roof covers your head,, and when you make a cake, are you allowed to eat some too,,,,,, if your bad they can beat you, but if your boss beats you then you can sue him for some cash, if your boss kills you, then your family can sue him for cash, if your slave master kills you then he just makes your children do all your work, and they are probally half his kids, that he raped you for, to get more slaves,,,,,,,,,
