I have an "open ended" zipper (two pieces) on a jacket. Both pieces have fallen off, and I'm trying to put the pieces back on the jacket. They will slide back on, but they slide right back off. Does anyone know how to put both pieces on and have them stay on? I'm not sure if a piece broke off, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Hi,I will tell you right now the thing will never go back together correctly. If you like the jacket, I think you should go to a tailor and have them sew a new zipper on the jacket. This way it will not be falling apart on you and you will enjoy your jacket again.God Luck ROSCO

the mechanism on the zipper that aligns the teeth of the two zippers' sides is slightly bent, and the teeth are not meshing properly. you need to first locate the replacement zipper at any fabric or craft store. Then find the thread or threads that your current, broken zipper is sewn to the jacket by, and carefully cut it with a small pair of scissors or an exacto knife, but be careful not to cut yourself. Then sew on the new zipper. you might want help from any experienced seamstress.

It'll never work, that's why they sell them at Wal-Mart. You'll need a new one.
