Hi,
The easiest way I have found to put files on a phone (including ringtones, wallpapers screensavers etc) is using Create Ringtone. You send files to your mobile phone by Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) or using Bluetooth infrared or wired connection. It has a 15 day trial (I am not associated with this software). It is alot easier than using cables.

download mp3 converter.. download bitpim..
cut out up to 30 seconds of ur fav part or ur song with mp3 converter (save; mp3, 96). go into bitpim, edit, settings, and select vx8500. click on ringers. go to icons to add the clip to the ringers (just convert it the way it is, sounds great!). top left select "send phone data" (on this part select "add to ringer") and you should be set... p.s. you do need the data cord for this if u don't have it already!
