Hmmm, interesting answers you go there. Some said dead, some said alive. Now.... leaping into the mouth of Kraken ... not likely he will be alive, is it?
At the end of the movie, didn't someone say that there is a way to "bring him back"? Wouldn't that imply that he is dead?
Just because there is a sequel does not mean he is alive. It only means that the story is yet to finish.

well in order for the third movie to make sense or be good at least, i think Capt. Jack Sparrow is alive. If he isn't, then the movie will serve no purpose.

Once again, an assumption is made that has no evidence to back it up. All Obama defenders claim Republicans are racists? Funny, I've defended Obama several times and I didn't get that memo. Even if I wanted to make that leap, I couldn't say it with a straight face because of Robert Byrd. :)

At the end on the 2nd movie the witch doctor brought back borbosa* to be the captain of the ship to get Sparrow back. If indeed he was dead don't you think the witch doctor could have brought him back like she did borbosa*. If you watch the special features on the dvd they say they were making the third one as they were making the 2nd one.

If he makes it out alive, that would be a pretty neat trick. I think we saw the day when they finally caught ol' Captain Jack Sparrow

He must be alive cuz there is a 3rd one on it's way to theaters soon.

Dude he is the life of the pirates of the carribean movie. He can't die. He would probably be taken to the legendary place called world's end where his judgement would be decided for making a pact with the octopus head dude 13 years ago.

he's easily alive, jonah got eaten by a whale and he was fine, and jack sparrow has a sword. plus if he's dead the third movie will suck- but i'll still see it...
