YES!! I love your question. I think everyone does this so that we can have a connection with people we don't know by name, but we see all the time... OR just to keep life fun. Right now, I'm giggling, thinking about all of the names I've given people, like this guy in college who we called bumble-bee because he ALWAYS wore this black and yellow stripped long-sleeve shirt. Or the man we call "bartender" -- Oh my, I won't tell you why. Hey, it might be fun to know what people call me when they don't know my name..... or it may be fatal.... HHHMMM, may be a fun game to play with friends... thanks!

I had a few nicknames for people in my chem class that I didn't talk to. Muffintop, Hot dog Boy (he was a hot dog for halloween. Haha), Girl with the annoying voice. I also nicknamed a random boy with blonde hair "sunshine". Yeah I think those are my most interesting ones. I think everyone does it sometimes.

Definitely.. you give them these nicknames so that you can remember them visually (if you can't pronounce or remember or know them at all)..
