hold down menu and the center button unless you have the shuffle

Yes they are correct to hold down the menu and the center button but also you must make sure that your itunes software is up to date. Leave it off for about 10 mins and then hold down the menu and the center button again.
You may have to reset your ipod. If you do get it to unfreeze becuase you may lose some data.
Good Luck

The best thing to do is to reformat your ipod on a different computer but when you will do that you will loose all the memory of the ipod.

thaw it?....lol

slide the hold button to off and on for a few times;
press and hold menu and center button for at least 6 secs.;
that should reset it.

download the latest itune - sometimes the older one causes the ipod to freeze....

good luck

there is a way to reset it that the "geek squad" at best buy told me.

im pretty sure that you hold down the menu and play/pause buttons down for around 10 seconds and hopefully that will work. you can check ipod troubleshooting on the apple website i think i saw directions on how to restart it. good luck!
