It shouldn't be hard. Without knowing the details of the situation, I have to ask: Are you ONLY trying to prove you love someone, or are you trying to convince them to love you back? Sometimes the other person just doesn't feel that way about you and there's nothing you can do to convince them that they should love you. You shouldn't have to "prove" anything. What is this, a math equation? A day in court?
If this is a case of your beloved being insecure (hurt before, dumped by previous lover, etc.), it will take time and patience, but they shouldn't be making you jump through hoops. Ever hear that song by David Wilcox, "Break in the cup"? It's about how some people, no matter how much you try to fill them up, they're hearts are broken and the love just runs right out. They have to heal themselves, you can't do it for them. You can be there, you can be supportive, you can be honest and true, but they've got to do the healing work.

I guess because we have to deal with so much ugly in this world that we really don't know when someone is trying to tell us the truth. Then you have those that have been hurt in the past so, that just makes it twice as bad. People want to believe that they are really loved but, at the same time they don't want to get hurt. In the long run they end up getting hurt anyway because they go too far with the non-believing. If you really do love someone then it shouldn't be so hard for you to keep proving it to this person. Don't give up. Keep trying because all of us really want that special someone to just keep telling us how much they really love us no matter what.

You shouldn't have to "prove" anything. If you really love someone, you show them by being there for them, being honest, faithful, taking care of them and yourself, affectionate, loving, etc. If they can't trust and believe that you really care, then they have the problem and it is up to them to work it out.

There are far and few people that can be truly honest with their feelings. Most times past relationships can cause someone to be on guard all the time.
