GBA Harvest Moon, more friends of mineral town, Help?

Question

I am new to this game but addicted! How do you pick your crops once they are ready? I have planted grass and corn and tried to cut them with the sicle but they just disappeared. Did I lose them forever? How do I put them in my bag or chest? Also, my chickens keep getting sick even though I'm feeding them and picking them up every day. Any advice? The medicine is so expensive. Who is Won?

Thanks everyone, that helps a little. I can't seem to find Won at the Inn, is there anywhere else he could be or is there a certain time I can find him?and do I need to buy a vase from him? As for my chickens, I never put them outside but they still get sick sometimes.

when the crops are ready, you just grab them the same way that you pick up your chickens. if you don't pull off a corn, it's not ready yet. also, corn can only grow in the summer.

grass, you can not pick... but you can cut it with the sickle, and it automatically goes to the silo for use as cow fodder later on

if you use a sickle on a vegetable like an onion, you lose it forever

you cannot put food in the chest, you can put it in the fridge, but that isn't until later in the game. for now, you want to put it in the shipping bin next to your house, and inside the chicken coop, the cow barn, etc..

chickens are getting sick, because you are leaving them outside, aren't you. i leave mine inside all the time, and they never get sick. just feed 1 food per chicken everyday, and pick them up everyday. i also don't ship eggs inside the chicken coop. i pretend the chickens will get upset.

won is a traveling salesman. can be found in zack's house on the beach [i previously had the inn written in, but that's in another version, sorry]

Actually, maybe the corn isn't riped or ready yet. You can learn about their season or their ripening in the library.

And when you cut them with a sickle you'll lose them meaning you've wasted your money.

If you want them inside your rucksack PRESS X or B ( If you are playing it on the Gameboy).

You can't put a corn or any items in the chest. The Chest is only for tools like hoe, hammer, sickle, axe and other tools like the blue-feather ( if you want to marry).

And as for your chickens did you put them outside in a rainy day? Put them in the chicken coop, always.

Won is the travelling Chinese salesman and you can buy the vase from him. But I WARN YOU don't buy the apples his selling, they're only ordinary apples.

And one more tip.... you can put the corn on the water mill next to the chicken coop so that you can save chicken feed.

well ive played every Harvest moon before this: usualy there is a button aside from using a tool that is used for picking up crops/tools/bounty. the sicle is used soley for mature grass, crops destroyed by the sicle will not grow back.

as for the chickens: are you bringing them inside before a day of rain? not the morning it begins to rain, but the night/day before. make sure you watch your news/calender to see if its raining the next day ... or worse those really bad storms.
