Hello! But why do so many people believe this Portugese newspaper that Gwyneth Paltrow made anti-American remarks? And all those so-called American's who now claim to hate her and refuse to pay to see any of her movies should reconsider their American citizenship. As an American, you're allowed Freedom of speech--so if she did say that, then that is her opinion. But I do not believe it because we didn't HEAR her make this comment plus she denied it--if she really said it, the newsppaer would be able to prove it after she claimed she didn't say it. They would have recorded it; true? And let's face it--the British definitly do have a better education program than the American's. Sad, but true.

Yeah like something a celebrity would say would offend me. Haha Americans are so obsessed with being politically correct but America is the least politically correct country of them all. We are such hypocrites =P. At least I admit to it though! Right?! ;D

You miss the whole point of freedom of speech. If she has the right to hate Americans..., we have the right to hold our opinion of her AND express our discontent however we so choose (stopping short of breaking the law of course) .., and refusal to pay someone money who hates you is a very good non-violent way of expressing discontent.

Why should I or anyone else provide someone's living who hates me? She don't even know me... and I find that more than insulting. It takes one low life person to bite the hand that feeds them.

She denied it? LOL. They all do that. I recall Johnny Depp who gave an interview with a French Magazine, forgetting that Americans would find out he called American's dogs. When the threat of loosing tremendous sums of money (and new acting jobs) hit home, he went on a mission to say he was taken out of context. Of course - he was not taken out of context, he was backtracking to cover his keester.

And where's your proof that the British have a better education program than Americans? It pans out the same. Sad but true. Everyone (you and Miss Paltrow) have the right to express opinions - but why do you feel no one else has a right to disagree and demonstrate that fact?

I disagree with you and certainly disagree with Gwyneth. Thats my right. Do you see your hypocrisy?

Hey, let's not throw all Americans into the same group here. I am not at all outraged by her remarks. I don't care what she thinks. If she did say it, then that is fine. She does not live here anymore and that is her choice to feel that way. If she did not say it, then there is no issue anyway.

Don't go around spouting off that Americans are uneducated. Just because a few choice people choose to be angered by her comments does not give you the right to state that all Americans behave in the same manner. Perhaps your attitude shows just how truly uneducated YOU are.

The same thing happened with Dixie Chicks. Some of the minds of Americans are complete contradictions to themselves, they believe in freedom of speech until you say something that they don't like.

Well, along with the freedom of speech is the freedom not to buy something. If they really want to boycott her because some newspaper somewhere said something they have no evidence of then whatever. Most of the people boycotting are nationalistic brainwashed morons anyways and nothing you can say will change there minds.

Come again? I haven't heard anything about Paltrow, but I thought that hating America (especially by Americans) was the latest fad. :S

Britain does not have a better education system. If they do, then the American system really needs a boost, but trust me from personal experience, Britain's is not superior anyway.

It's just a publicity stunt. She was washed up before this happened. Now people will go to her movies just to feel good about free speech.

i guess people are outraged simply because her statements are anti-american... its just that. it is a freedom to speak of such but they also have the right to feel disgust and outrage because of someone's usage of the said freedom.
